A Day for Remembering
July 20 always means a lot to me, the day man set foot on the moon in 1969. I spent the entire middle hour of Bill Bennett’s morning in America on this, even amid all the Aurora CO shooting reaction. Listeners seemed to appreciate it, and it felt great to tell a story so many have forgotten, or never really embraced.
It also took me back to October 2008, when I had the honor of conducting a panel discussion with some of the vital participants in our moon missions.

- A moment I never dared dream of: earning the appreciation of Neil Armstrong for remembering the value of these heroes
- Meeting Buzz Aldrin, who has rarely been in a room with Armstrong since the moon walks- because Neil just doesn’t do many events
- Reminiscing with the astronaut who put it all together…Apollo 7′s Walt Cunningham, who lives in Houston to this day.
