Mark’s Reaction to the Paul Ryan Pick

From Producer Susan: If you can’t wait until next week to hear what Mark thinks about Romney’s VP pick of Paul Ryan, below is a chronological account of his tweets from the morning of the announcement as the Romney/Ryan ticket debuted aboard the USS Wisconsin:

Mark and Congressman Paul Ryan in 2011

  • Democrats “thrilled” by Ryan pick? Really? Be careful what you wish for, my friends. Google Ryan owning Obama at budget town hall
  • Ryan is NOT a one-trick pony. Sharp on foreign policy, social issues. And a great sense of humor lies beneath that budget wonk exterior
  • First running mate who is a big Zeppelin fan. Except maybe Agnew, I’d have to check
  • Everybody shut up about no Romney/Ryan signs. No McCain/Palin signs for her announcement. Not “official” til nominee says the words.
  • He just said the words. I do indeed have some degree of goose bumps. Not Rubio/Christie goosebumps, but enough
  • Nod to pro-life! Very good. Mormon-Catholic ticket, pretty wild, isn’t it?
  • Say “welfare” every 30 seconds. It resonates.
  • Repeal and replace! SWEEEEEEEET.
  • Someone in crowd just yells “Obamaloney!” Stop it
  • WOOPS Next President Paul Ryan!
  • He meant after him, of course. #46
  • What, no tie? Slacker :)
  • Nice recovery by Romney, he should have used my line. “I meant after me.”
  • Something else to love: Ryan’s middle name. Davis. Called “P.D.” as a kid. Hated it.
  • In support, I will paint on a widow’s peak for my next TV appearance.
  • “Our rights come from nature and God…” Very founding fathers, but also a little Wiccan
  • Let it be clear that I love Sarah Palin. But please join me in celebrating a campaign free of stress during running mate TV interviews
  • Ryan night, Wednesday night, August 29 in Tampa will be a rock show. Cant wait
  • Nice wrap up, nice finishing theme. GET. THIS. DONE.
  • We may have seen today the men who will take the presidency to Jan 20, 2029.
  • Beautiful families, nice pic. NOW they can print Romney/Ryan signs.
  • Jim DeMint line: After Obama, “America needs a little R and R.”
  • Ryan will not fire up the base as Palin did, but nor will he take us on a white-knuckle ride (he says with all love and deference)
  • Ryan at 42 would not be youngest VP. Quayle was 41, Nixon (who always seemed 60) was actually 40
  • So Dems will attack Ryan on conservative budget plan. And what running mate would NOT have faced that attack? Calm down.
  • Left’s “glee” over Ryan is truly funny. Honest libs know he is a great pick for Romney and a serious impediment to Obamas selection.
