You know, you think you have a sense of how a topic is going, even when it’s kind of complicated. This morning, we brought up the case of a Michigan hospital that actually caved to a demand from a neo-Nazi racist Dad who ordered: no black nurses around my kid in the neo-natal ICU. The nurse who was pulled off the case is suing, and we had a fascinating litany of calls, some from people who were rightfully mortified, but others who said maybe the hospital might have just navigated around this idiot to avoid the tension or maybe even provocation. Sure, that would mean accommodating a complete psychopath, but I understood the smattering of callers who made that point.
But I didn’t see THIS coming…
